Registration Information

Registration

Registration for classes is on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register online, by mail, in person (during office hours M-F 9:00am – 5:00pm) or by phone (740) 369-2787 (Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express- debit or credit).

Class Surveys

Class surveys are a helpful tool in the growth and success of our programming! We have two versions of the survey, one for participants 12 and under, one for teens and adults. Please take a moment to fill out your 1/2 page survey at the end of class. Let us know how you feel about the class and answer a few questions. There’s even an area for you to suggest other workshops you’d like to see offered.

Membership

Save on your classes and become a member! Members save 10% on most classes plus your membership helps support your Arts Castle! Our membership year runs from July 1 to June 30 of the next year (our fiscal year). Memberships expire at the end of June regardless of the date you sign up.

Class Idea?

If you have an idea workshop you’d like to take, let us know! We are always happy to hear your ideas.

Unattended Children Policy

Due to limitations of space and resources, our staff is unavailable to provide adequate security and safety for children outside of their class time. It is imperative that parents/guardians drop off and pick up children for classes in a timely manner. Children should be picked up from class within 10 minutes of class end. In addition, children who visit to view exhibits and events should be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Class Cancellations

Early registration helps ensure classes run. Registration continues until classes fill or the registration deadline passes. Registrations may be accepted after the published deadline for classes that have met our minimum registration requirements. The Arts Castle reserves the right to cancel classes. Notifications will be sent to the email used when registering.

If we’re required to close due to local or state regulations, a pro rata refund will be given. If a class is canceled due to weather or instructor illness, students will be notified of the day and time of the make-up class. If a student is unable to attend the re-scheduled class, the student will forfeit the instructional time; refunds for missed, re-scheduled classes will not be given.

Inclement Weather

Class cancellations due to bad weather will be posted on our Facebook page and message will be sent out via Sawyer. Schools may be closed, but we may be open (or vice versa).

Student Work

Except by special request, class artwork will not be kept past the quarter. Please pick up ceramic artwork by the posted deadline, usually a week following class. Unfortunately, we do not have the space to keep any projects as we move into a new quarter.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for students who qualify, based on financial need or artistic aptitude. Applications are available at The Arts Castle or download a pdf here. Scholarship deadlines are three weeks prior to the class start.

Participant and Photo Waiver

By registering you hereby grant permission for the The Arts Castle and its partner organizations to use photographs of you or your child (with or without attribution) in publications, marketing materials, online, social media and in other communications related to the mission of The Arts Castle.

Also, you hereby, for yourself, your heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages you or your child may have against this organization and its partner organizations, representatives, successors, and assigns for any and all injuries suffered by yourself or your child during any activity by these groups.

Refund Policy

A full refund (minus a $10 processing fee) is given up to the registration deadline, typically 5 days before class begins. Cancellations 2-5 days before class begins are refunded at 50%. Cancellations within 48 hours of class time are not refunded due to contractual obligations. Fees cannot be carried over to the next quarter; class credit will not be given.
