Dance Academy Winter Enrollment
January 3rd – January 12th – Students can join us for a free trial class to see if they’d like to sign up. The registration deadline for winter classes is January 15th.

Registration
Registration for classes is on a first-come, first-served basis. Most find it easiest to register online. You may also register by mail, in person or by phone 740-369-2787 during office hours M-F 9-5pm.
Our dance curriculum is designed to cover 32 weeks of material and culminate in our annual Winter and Spring Recitals. This year’s Winter Recital is The Nutcracker, scheduled for Friday, December 15! Each ACDA student receives two tickets to each recital. Additional tickets are available at the door. Students must attend 70% of their classes in order to participate in the recital.
Dancers (or their parents/guardians) are required to complete the Health/Permission Form before the first class.
Monthly Payments & Pay-in-Full Discount
If you pay in full when registering you’ll receive a 10% discount. If this is not possible we strongly encourage using our automatic monthly payment plan. This option can be selected when registering online and makes it simple and easy for all. If you chose this option your first payment will occur when you register, the next monthly payment will occur on or about Sept 22 (then each month afterwards around the same time). The Dance Academy class fees are excluded from the Arts Castle membership discount. Payment is taken with Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express (debit or credit), also cash or checks (checks made out to The Arts Castle).
Class Observation
The Dance Academy and Pre-Academy classes are structured as teacher-child classes. We have found that having guests in the Ballroom is distracting to students. Thus, we encourage parents to wait outside the Ballroom and welcome them to observe class during scheduled observation times.
For our Pre-Academy program, we strive to support healthy parent-child separation. Parents may be temporarily invited into the classroom at the teacher’s sole discretion to support this learning goal, but we take active steps to achieve a healthy separation. All families are invited to observe class in the Ballroom on the last day of the pre-academy classes. For ACDA, parents will be invited to observe class a number of times each year, notice will be given for these days.
Refunds
Tuition will be refunded when written notice of withdrawal is received by our office. The amount refunded will reflect classes not taken after the postmark date on the written notice. Any discounts given for full-year payments will no longer apply. Recital fees are not refundable once costumes have been ordered.
Class Cancellations
Early registration helps ensure classes run. Registration continues until classes fill or the registration deadline passes. Registrations may be accepted after the published deadline for classes that have met our minimum registration requirements. The Arts Castle reserves the right to cancel classes or substitute teachers if the need arises; notifications will be sent to the email used when registering.
Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment may be cancelled. Students will be notified; and we will try to place students in comparable classes. If no arrangement can be made, a pro-rated refund will be issued.
If we’re required to close due to local or state regulations, a pro rata refund will be given. If a class is canceled due to weather or instructor illness, students will be notified of the day and time of the make-up class. If a student is unable to attend the re-scheduled class, the student will forfeit the instructional time; refunds for missed, re-scheduled classes will not be given.
Inclement Weather
Class cancellations due to bad weather will be posted on our Facebook page and on our voicemail at (740) 369-2787. Schools may be closed, but we may be open (or vice versa).
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for students who qualify, based on financial need or artistic aptitude. Applications are available at The Arts Castle or download a pdf here. Please submit scholarship application by Aug. 1 for the 2023-24 season.
