Frank Ruggles - My Delaware Story.

I moved to Delaware Ohio in 1973 and attended Conger, Willis and Hayes High School. I was a member of the Hayes Marching Band and the Air Force JROTC program. After learning about the military, I enlisted in the US Army my junior year and I shipped out for basic training 6 days after graduation.

I had not returned to Delaware until my 25th Class Reunion, where I got to spend some time with old friends and I realized how special my little hometown was, although it has grown a lot since I left in 1985.

After I finished my time in the military, I became a photographer for the National Park Service, traveled to all 50 US states, and photographed 256 National Parks. My most recept trip was a week I spent with giant Grizzly Bears in Katmai National Park in Alaska.

I am excited to return to my hometown to speak to the students about the wonderful adventures that await them in the National Parks and to encourage them to study art in school.
